Build the tools UK advisers actually want to use
Bloom is a small UK team building the practice-management platform for financial advice firms. We're early, we move quickly, and everything we ship gets used in anger inside a real, regulated advice firm. If that sounds like your kind of work, we'd love to hear from you.
What Bloom is, and why it matters
Bloom is the operating system for UK advice firms — CRM, cashflow, suitability, compliance and client portal in one place. It started inside a live, FCA-regulated firm, out of frustration with a stack of tools that didn't talk to each other. That origin still shapes everything: we use the product ourselves, every day, to do real advice work.
Working here means your work lands. There's no layer of abstraction between what you build and someone relying on it to run their practice. The team is small, so ownership is real and the feedback loop is short — you can see the impact of a change in days, not quarters.
One principle runs through the whole platform: one source of truth. Every feature reads from the raw client and policy data an adviser enters once; we never duplicate data that could drift out of sync. Because we're handling sensitive client and financial information, security and trust aren't a checkbox — they're part of how we design.
What we care about
Ship real things
We'd rather put a useful, well-made feature in front of a real adviser this week than polish a roadmap for a quarter. Work reaches users quickly, and we learn from how it's actually used.
Built by and for practitioners
Bloom is made inside a working advice firm, so we feel the clunky bits before our customers do. Understanding the work — fact-finds, suitability, Consumer Duty, RMAR — matters as much as understanding the code.
Security and trust first
We hold sensitive client and financial data, and we treat that responsibility seriously. Sensible defaults, careful handling of data, and a low tolerance for shortcuts that put trust at risk.
Small team, big ownership
There's no hiding in a small team, and that's the appeal. You'll own meaningful pieces end to end, make decisions that stick, and see your fingerprints across the product.
Open roles
We're honest about where we are: there are no formal vacancies advertised right now. But Bloom is growing, and we'd genuinely like to hear from exceptional people ahead of the roles we know are coming.
Two backgrounds we're especially keen to talk to:
- Full-stack engineers who are strong with Next.js and Supabase (Postgres), care about craft, and want their work used by real firms rather than buried in a backlog.
- People who understand UK financial advice — advisers, paraplanners or compliance specialists who get the day-to-day of running a regulated firm and want to help shape software around it.
If you don't fit neatly into either but think you'd add something, get in touch anyway. We read everything.
